Microseismicity analysis is critical when solving a wide range of problems in science and technology. Microseismicity can be caused by both natural and manmade factors. In densely populated urban areas, the main source of microtremors is anthropogenic activity. In the Donbas, mines should be taken as manmade sources of microtremors at large depths. The article describes the use of a dedicated software package developed at the RANIMI for processing and analysis of microseismicity monitoring data on coal–rock mass in the Kalinovskaya–Vostochnaya Mine nearby Makeevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The test rock mass represents an alteration of dense and jointed sandstone with characteristic higher and lower velocities of seismic waves, respectively. The temporal variations in the amplitude–frequency characteristics of the recorded wave fields are presented for different frequency ranges. The amplitude–frequency characteristics of microtremors are averaged over a long period of time. The comparative analysis of the calculations and actual drilling data shows that for the zones beyond the influence of tectonic faults, the domains of the largest spectral amplitudes of the vertical microtremors can be matched with the rock layers with low velocities of seismic waves. The analysis of the top structure of the geological section must include effects of multiple reflections of microtremors at sharp acoustic boundaries and a channeling effect of vibrational energy.
The study was carried out within the framework of the state contract, topic FRSR-2023-0007.
