The paper deals with issues related to the stress-strain state during continuous rolling of stainless steel shells. The problems arising in the production of seamless pipes from hard-todeform steel grades are described. An experimental study was carried out to determine the coefficient of contact friction for conditions close to the conditions of the process of rolling a sleeve in a continuous rolling mill. The results of the experimental study were imported into a computer model of the mill, developed using the Qform software product, and the calculations of the shape change for various conditions of contact interactions were carried out. Computer modeling was carried out using the Qform 3D software product in accordance with the plan of the computational experiment. A statistical analysis of the results of a computational experiment of data on the change in the angle of coverage of the mandrel with deformable metal, the outer diameter and wall thickness of the pipe at the exit from the deformation zone of each stand was carried out.
