Abstract | Continuous and cyclic excavation and transportation systems using surface miners are analyzed. The improved technique of dump truck loading is proposed enabling down-time of surface miners for truck exchange to be eliminated and muck loading time significantly reduced. This article describes the design and operation of the automated loading unit to implement the proposed technique. |
